Why do it?

Hack Squats are a great exercise to build leg muscle. They focus on the quads more than traditional squats and reduce the involvement of your lower back.

Form Check

Parallel (at least) Stable footing No bounce No assistance Knees almost locked

Instructions

  1. Load the machine with weight plates.
  2. Stand on the platform and set up your footing
  3. Grip the handles and unrack the weight
Hack Squat
  1. Lower yourself until your thighs are at least parallel to the platform
Hack Squat
  1. Push yourself back up until your knees are almost locked out
Hack Squat
  1. Rerack the weight
