Why do it?

The Clean is the strongest way to get a heavy weight to shoulder height and a fundamental movement in Olympic lifting.

Instructions

  1. Begin with the barbell on the floor
Clean
  1. Push the bar off the floor like a deadlift
  2. Drive with hip and toe extension while shrugging so that the bar reaches the highest point possible

  1. Jump down under the bar and catch it on your fully bent arms at the top of your chest

  1. Drive from the bottom of the squat until standing straight
