Why do it?

Deadlift is a fundamental hip hinge exercise to develop the ability to lift a heavy weight off the ground. Performing deadlifts increases whole body strength, confidence and can increase testosterone levels in the body.

Form Check

Arms straight Stable footing Knees locked Shoulders back No supporting bar on body Bar always moves up


  1. Begin with the barbell on the floor
  2. Grip the barbell with a hook or overhand grip
  3. Look straight ahead and take the slack out of the bar
  1. Lift the bar off the floor in a controlled manner
  2. Stand up and lockout
  1. Lower the bar down in a controlled manner
