Why do it?

Muscles Ups are a challenging combination of Pull Ups and Dips, normally using momentum to allow you to raise yourself above the bar further than you would do with a Pull Up.

Instructions

  1. Grab the bar with both hands around shoulder-width, you may need to jump or use a step
  2. Build some momentum to make the movement easier
Muscle Ups
  1. Create space between you and the bar so you can rotate around it
  2. Increase the momentum with your back and biceps and pull until your shoulders are above the bar
Muscle Ups
  1. Rotate your hands around the bar as your shoulders move above it
  2. Push the bar down and away with your triceps and chest until your arms are vertical

  1. Lower yourself down, trying to keep momentum if doing another rep
