Why do it?

Thrusters start from a full squat, increasing the contribution from the legs compared to a Push Press.

Instructions

  1. Begin with the barbell on a rack at shoulder height
  2. Lift the barbell off the rack onto your shoulders with your hands under the bar

  1. Squat down into a full squat position

  1. Recoil back up from the hips
  2. Push with your shoulders once standing to keep the bar moving upward
  3. Stand with your arms straight above your head

  1. Lower the bar to neck height and repeat
