Why do it?

Tricep Pushdown is a great alternative to Tricep Extension for isolating the triceps. Instead of pushing upwards against gravity you push downwards using a cable for resistance. This makes it a better accessory for Dips.

Form Check

Start above elbow Fully straighten arms Arms locked to body

Instructions

  1. Select the weight on the machine
  2. Grab the handle with both hands using a close grip
  3. Stand slightly away from the machine

  1. Push the handle down with your triceps until your arm is straight
Tricep Pushdown
  1. Return the handle to the initial position and repeat

  1. Release the tension on the handle, returning the weight stack to the ground
